Riding Bike Trails

I am going to write about the bike trails I've cycled on around Hawkes Bay.
They run between Havelock North and Haumoana. Along the river bank on the outskirts of Hastings to Clive and continue onto Napier,  Haumoana and Teawanga.
They are easy biking for anyone with moderate fitness. The Hawkes Bay has many retired people taking up riding  bike trails for recreation and fitness.

Welcome

I write about recreation and what you can do in Hawkes Bay.

The idea of this blog began over a decade ago when I studied recreation in New Zealand.

The Hawkes Bay has a whole range of activities for locals and tourists:

Napier is the Art Deco Capital of the Southern Hemisphere.

Havelock North has tandum paragliding off the top of Temata Peak- that was my best ever experience.

Absailing off Temata Peak was also exciting.

Kayaking at Pandora Pond in Napier at the Estuary-I used to own sea kayaks and paddle around the Esturary with friends for a liesurely water activity or paddle out to Cape Kidnappers for a more serious trip.

Cape Kidnappers are famous for the Gannet Colony and there are tractors that take out thousands of tourists each year to see the gannets nesting at the top of the Cliffs.

Whitewater rafting and kayaking down the mighty Mohaka River is a trip for the more adventurerous. The guides are well trained specialists who practice top class risk management so no worries about your safety. They are a great team.

There is also Horse Treks in the country side

Winearies with great restaurants

Art Studio tours
